First St. Red Barn Studio An 8 Wonders of Kansas! Art finalist. Artist/craftsman Lester Raymer worked in painting, furniture carving, tapestry, jewelry, toy making, sculpture and pottery. His prolific output is astounding; the diverse craft techniques he employed, rare. Raymer's childhood memories of the family farm in Oklahoma and his mother's strong religious beliefs inspired his art in both style and subject matter. Horses, roosters and the circus dominate the artistic thread throughout his life; Christian motifs run through his painting, toys and sculpture. Donations welcomed. 212 S.
