A chamber music concert featuring flutist Kathy Ensey, flutist Ellen Johnson Mosley, harpist Ann Reddy, and pianist Bridget Hille will take place at the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery on Sunday, January 5 at 2:00pm. They will be performing selections by Mozart, Cecile Chaminade, Ian Clark, Gabriel Fauré, and others.
Kathy Ensey is a Wichita native flutist and public school music teacher, having held teaching positions in K-12 elementary, vocal and instrumental music in the Peabody and Valley Center, Kansas districts. She presently works as Director of Operations at Johnson Gage & Inspection in Wichita, Kansas supporting the local aircraft industry. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in flute performance from Wichita State University (WSU) studying under Dr. Frances Shelly and Dr. Carmen Lemoine. She collaborates with local flute professionals on the Tack Flute Foundation Committee supporting and encouraging local young flutists. She enjoys performing with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of the Smoky Valley, Wichita Grand Opera Orchestra, and serving as Principal Flutist with the Delano Chamber Orchestra.
Ellen Johnson Mosley, D.M. is the Director of Development at Botanica and Lecturer in the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs at WSU. Currently, she performs in the Wichita Wind Symphony and the Bodo Ensemble. Dr. Mosley previously served as the Visiting Assistant Professor of Flute at Morehead State University and Principal Flutist in the Cave Run Symphony Orchestra, in Kentucky.
Hailing from the wide tallgrass prairies of Kansas, Ann Reddy draws strength and inspiration from her love of nature and music. Having studied harp performance at WSU and the Peabody Conservatory of Music, she now divides her time between performing with orchestra, freelancing, and volunteering, with her passion for gardening and prairie ecology. She performs regularly with the Wichita Grand Opera Orchestra and was recently a featured soloist with the Delano Chamber Orchestra of Wichita.
Bridget Hille, collaborative pianist, took on her first paid accompanying job in the 7th grade. From that young age, a lifelong love of and career in the collaborative arts was born. Ms. Hille has been a fixture in the WSU Accompanists’ Guild for the last 25 years, collaborating with countless vocal and instrumental students, faculty, and guest artists, and also serves as the Guild coordinator and chair of their Advisory Board. In 2014, she took on the role of collaborative pianist for the WSU Opera Theatre program and is currently in her second season as pianist with Opera Kansas.
